Woman stabs attacker in face to cease abduction try in New Jersey: Officers

Detectives in Berlin Township, New Jersey, are looking for a person they stated tried to abduct a woman whereas she was strolling to high school.

Based on the Camden County Prosecutors Workplace, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, officers from the Berlin Police Division responded to the John F. Kennedy Elementary Faculty situated at 228 Mt. Vernon Avenue after receiving a report of an tried baby abduction.

Officers stated that an 8-year-old woman had shared with faculty workers that an unknown man approached her from behind and tried to abduct her whereas she was strolling to high school at round 8:45 a.m. within the space of Washington and Grove avenues in Berlin Township.

The woman was in a position to struggle off the suspect earlier than working to the college, in line with officers.

“The victim believes she stabbed the suspect with a pencil she was carrying, so he may have a facial injury,” officers shared.

Officers describe the suspect as a person with a darkish beard. He was final seen carrying black garments and a baseball cap with an unknown image on it.

Neighbors applauded the younger woman for her fast considering whereas mother and father who’ve college students on the faculty are involved for his or her security.

“It’s crazy. I’m glad that she did that,” neighbor Noah Rodriguez instructed NBC10. “I just wish someone could have stopped it. I’m glad she got away.”

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Workplace asks the general public to stay vigilant and to contact detectives about any suspicious people or exercise they could have noticed.
