Former Interim NYPD Police Commissioner Tom Donlon has filed a bombshell lawsuit alleging the NYPD is “criminal at its core”. 

The 251-page lawsuit, which was filed within the Southern District Wednesday morning, names the Metropolis of New York, Mayor Eric Adams, and present and former prime NYPD brass, together with, John Chell, Kaz Daughtry, Tania Kinsella, Jeffrey Madrey, and Tarik Sheppard.

Donlon, who served as interim NYPD commissioner for lower than two months, alleges “the defendants engaged in a coordinated pattern of racketeering activity that was deliberate, sustained, and directed from the highest levels of the NYPD and City Hall.”

The previous FBI investigator provides, “the criminal conspiracy… was coordinated and systemic, forming an unlawful scheme to preserve power, punish dissent, and defraud the public.”

Donlon was appointed as interim police commissioner in September 2024, following the resignation of former Police Commissioner Eddie Caban.   

Donlon served simply 2 months till he was changed with present commissioner, Jessica Tisch. 

Simply days after being on the job, Donlon’s New York Metropolis residence was searched by federal authorities,  who seized supplies unrelated to his police work. Donlon was by no means charged with any wrongdoing.  

The lawsuit requires an impartial authority to supervise key selections on the division.  It additionally calls for a trial by jury. 

In a press release Metropolis Corridor stated: “These are baseless accusations from a disgruntled former worker who — when given the chance to guide the best police division on this planet — proved himself to be ineffective. This swimsuit is nothing greater than an try to hunt compensation on the taxpayer’s expense after Mr. Donlon was rightfully faraway from the position of interim police commissioner. The NYPD is led by the most effective, brightest, and most honorable professionals within the nation — and their outcomes communicate for themselves: crime continues to fall throughout the town, with shootings on the lowest stage in recorded historical past.
