Suffolk County officer stabbed whereas making an attempt to make Amity Harbor arrest

A Suffolk County police officer is recovering Tuesday after being stabbed whereas making an attempt to arrest a suspect in Amity Harbor, police stated.

Officers had been known as to a report of two males trying in parked autos on Gibbs Highway close to Coolidge Avenue round 12:26 a.m. When the police arrived, officers positioned one suspect into custody however one other tried to get away, in line with Suffolk County police.

As soon as the person was situated close by and the officer tried to take him into custody, he swung a knife at an officer stabbing him within the leg and chin earlier than he could possibly be arrested, police stated.

The officer was taken to a neighborhood hospital for non-life-threatening accidents and was later launched.

Fees are pending for the 2 males, in line with police.
