PoliticsNY has partnered with AARP New York and the New York Metropolis Bar Affiliation to host a candidates’ discussion board for the Manhattan borough president and Metropolis Council District 4 Democratic main candidates on Wednesday, Could 7.

The occasion will happen on the New York Metropolis Bar Affiliation in Manhattan, situated at 42 West forty fourth Avenue, between fifth and sixth Avenues. It would run between 6 and eight p.m., with doorways opening at 6 p.m. and the discussion board starting at 6:10 p.m.

Josh Schneps, CEO of Schneps Media, will average the discussion board, asking a mixture of questions from PoliticsNY, AARP New York, and the New York Metropolis Bar Affiliation. The occasion is free and open to the general public.

 

 

Whereas borough presidents have some discretionary funds and say advisory votes on land use selections, their function is usually to advertise their borough. The function opened up after the present beep Mark Levine launched a marketing campaign for metropolis comptroller as an alternative of searching for a second time period.

 

Then the 5 candidates for Powers’ open Metropolis Council seat, which covers elements of Manhattan’s east facet from Stuyvasent City to the Higher East Aspect, will take the stage. They embrace former Lexington Democratic Membership President Vanessa Aronson, Samuel J. Tilden Democratic Membership President Religion Bondy, Meta undertaking supervisor Virginia Maloney — who can be the daughter of former Rep. Carolyn Maloney, former Missouri state consultant Rachel Storch, and state Houses & Neighborhood Renewal staffer Benjamin D. Wetzler.
