Expensive Mr. Mamdani,

As you put together to deliver New York Metropolis into a brand new period, we urge you to rethink your place and be part of the neighborhood in our sturdy help for the plan that preserves Elizabeth Road Backyard and secures 5x the quantity of inexpensive housing and almost 1000 models whole.

Towards all odds, the individuals have confirmed that the backyard might be saved and inexpensive housing might be constructed proper in our neighborhood, with none loss in anyway.

Public faculty college students, over 130 seniors, and over 300 native companies & organizations joined individuals from throughout the town & the world to ship the Adams administration over 1 million letters to save lots of ESG.

We, the many individuals of our neighborhood, did this with a exceptional grassroots marketing campaign that endured well-funded propaganda from builders and political pursuits for over 12 years.

The plan that saves ESG produces over 1000 models of housing, no less than 623 of that are completely inexpensive at close by various websites. One in all these websites is 2 blocks away from the Backyard. Not solely is that this way more inexpensive housing, nevertheless it’s completely inexpensive, which the deliberate improvement over the backyard is just not. Evicting and destroying ESG not solely ignores the outcry of a complete neighborhood but in addition ends in the lack of considerably extra housing.

We’ve proven that constructing a very inexpensive New York by no means has to return on the expense of neighborhood greenspace.  New Yorkers deserve each with out outdated political ploys and false selections imposed upon us.

Mr. Mamdani, your administration has a chance to set a brand new precedent for prioritizing each neighborhood gardens and affordability.  We urge you to hearken to the individuals of this neighborhood, to fulfill with us, and help the brand new plan for extra completely inexpensive housing whereas preserving Elizabeth Road Backyard.

Signed,
