NYPD automobiles burn in suspected Brooklyn arson

A number of NYPD automobiles in a fenced-in police parking zone in Brooklyn went up in flames early Thursday, and the division believes somebody set them on hearth deliberately, authorities say.

Police responded to studies of a number of car fires at Central and DeKalb avenues, dwelling of the 83rd Precinct stationhouse, round 1:30 a.m. Firefighters have been known as and the flames have been shortly doused.

No accidents have been reported. Eight NYPD automobiles sustained injury.

It comes as demonstrations towards the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement insurance policies proceed throughout America, together with in New York Metropolis. Domestically, protests have been largely peaceable, with only a handful of protesters getting arrested every night time and others receiving summonses.

It was unclear whether or not authorities have been connecting the car fires to the continuing unrest.
