The 2 ladies working to unseat Eric Adams within the 2025 NYC mayor’s race stirred the group on the Nationwide Motion Community‘s annual conference on Thursday, drawing thunderous applause for his or her pledges to take New York in a brand new route and struggle President Trump at each flip.

Metropolis Council Speaker Adrienne Adams and state Sen. Jessica Ramos, each representing reverse sides of Queens, stood out among the many group of roughly a dozen candidates who spoke on the conference’s candidates’ discussion board. Ramos mentioned she would defend immigrants, ladies, the LGBTQ+ group, and Variety, Fairness, and Inclusion (DEI) applications from assaults by the Trump administration.

She mentioned she needs to “make sure we are playing hardball with the worst of Queens,” referring to Trump.

“That’s why I want you guys to lead with the best of Queens,” she mentioned. “So that our children are proud of who’s occupying the halls of power because we have to get it together.”
