A vacationer was held captive and tortured for a number of weeks inside a Manhattan residence earlier than managing to flee Friday morning and working for assist, ultimately resulting in the arrest of his alleged kidnapper.

The 28-year-old man visiting from Italy met his alleged kidnapper on Could 6. Legislation enforcement sources say that’s when John Woeltz, 37, took the youthful man to a house he was renting in Nolita.

Woeltz took the person’s passport, tortured him and held him as a “sex slave” up till the Italian man managed to flee greater than two weeks later, the sources stated.

Upon his escape, the 28-year-old ran right into a site visitors agent who referred to as police to the house on Prince Avenue.

Officers arrested Woeltz and allegedly discovered a trove of proof on the rented out residence. Sources stated they turned up a number of Polaroid image of the sufferer being tied up and tortured. Investigators additionally reportedly recovered a gun and a number of other torture gadgets.

Detectives deliberate to talk with two butlers apparently working on the residence.

Legislation enforcement sources say Woeltz is a big-name crypto forex dealer from Kentucky. He had reportedly been renting out the Prince Avenue residence at a month-to-month fee between $30,000-40,000.

Woeltz was being held on the fifth Precinct. It was not instantly clear what fees he might be dealing with. Lawyer contact data was not identified.
