A 61-year-old grandmother was shot and killed by a stray bullet after dashing out to verify on her beloved one as gunfire rang out on a Harlem avenue late Tuesday night time, in keeping with police.

Surveillance video obtained by NBC New York confirmed the chaos get away on the nook of West 113th Road and Lenox Avenue round 10 p.m. Individuals at a close-by restaurant scrambled as bullets flew, with some taking cowl in a close-by SUV.

Mayor Eric Adams went to the scene on Wednesday, calling the capturing a “horrific incident that took the life of a grandmother.”

Police stated Mette’s grandson, who she rushed to verify on, was not believed to have been concerned within the capturing.
