Two days after a crash claimed the lives of a mom and her two daughters in Gravesend, avenue security advocates and native politicians gathered on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Corridor to demand the passage of the “Stop Super Speeders” invoice. Road security advocates at Borough Corridor on Monday stated Saturday’s tragedy may have been prevented if the laws had been handed.

At a funeral for Saada and her daughters on Sunday, Republican Meeting Member Michael Novakhov, whose district contains Gravesend, excused dashing drivers and stated there are “too many” pace cameras within the space, in keeping with Streetsblog NYC.

Different lawmakers at Monday’s rally included Meeting Member Jo Anne Simon (D-Brooklyn); Metropolis Council members Shahana Hanif (D-Brooklyn) and Lincoln Restler (D-Brooklyn); DOT Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez; and candidates for New York Metropolis mayor within the 2025 Democratic major, State Sen. Simon, a co-sponsor of the invoice, described the laws as a “very practical, common-sense bill to address a persistent problem.”

“The speed limiter technology is available to us,” Simon stated. “Let’s use it. It will save lives.”

Myrie vowed to get the invoice handed this legislative session.

“We stand and say, ‘Enough is Enough already,’” he stated. “Lives depend on our actions now, and I will be standing shoulder to shoulder with you to get it done.”
