Earlier than turning into Council Members, we first met years in the past whereas organizing with tenants, combating egregious rezonings and gentrification that was disempowering communities of colour. We understood then, as we perceive now, the necessity for inexpensive housing – we had been in courtroom rooms with tenants who had been getting evicted after their rents skyrocketed.
