A household in mourning: 6 12 months outdated killed in NJ residence hearth that left 17 damage

A household is mourning the lifetime of a six 12 months outdated boy who was killed in an residence hearth in Mercer County that pressured greater than a dozen folks from their properties on Thursday.

Jayden Gotell Watkins was visiting his great-grandmother for the vacations when the fireplace struck.

Now, the household is surrounded by family members as they wrap their heads round what occurred on Thursday, Jan. 3.

“I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t sleep as a result of it performs again within the thoughts,” Jayden’s great-grandmother Dorothy Smith stated.

Smith describes her great-grandson Jayden as a grandma’s boy. The boy from Syracuse, New York, at all times visited her throughout the holidays and the summer time.

For now, Jayden’s household is taking this loss day-by-day. Smith misplaced just about every part within the hearth and her household is asking for any form of donations to assist her get again on her ft.
