Stealing luck: Thieves accused of swiping lottery tickets value 1000’s in NYC

Two suspects are wished in what police consider are linked robberies the place the alleged thieves made off with 1000’s of {dollars} value of lottery tickets from New York Metropolis companies.

Police mentioned the duo first struck within the remaining week of December, on the twenty sixth, after they hit a retailer on Eighth Avenue within the West Village.

Round 8:30 p.m., police mentioned the suspects entered the shop and “simulated a firearm” as a way to steal roughly $2,100 value of lottery tickets.

Practically two weeks later, police mentioned the thieves struck once more, this time over in Queens.

The duo allegedly popped right into a retailer on Jan. 8 off Broadway in Astoria. Police mentioned they pulled out a gun and managed to take tickets value $4,800.

No accidents have been reported in both theft, in line with police.

The NYPD launched surveillance photos and video over the weekend in hopes of gaining the general public’s help in monitoring down the alleged thieves.

In a video clip, the 2 appeared to hop the turnstile, with the second man carrying a container loaded up with the lottery tickets.
