NJ Transit rail service into New York resumes with ‘restricted service’; Amtrak suspended

NJ Transit rail service into New York resumes with ‘restricted service’; Amtrak suspended

The railroad stated the delays are attributable to Amtrak overhead wire points close to Newark Penn Station.

Eastbound Midtown Direct service into New York is being diverted to Hoboken. Raritan Valley Line Service is originating and ending at Newark Penn.

NJ Transit rail tickets are being cross-honored by PATH on the Newark, Hoboken and thirty third Road-NY stations. NJ Transit and personal service buses are additionally honoring rail tickets.

Amtrak service suspended between Philadelphia and New York

Amtrak service can also be suspended between New York (NYP) and Philadelphia (PHL) because of the “overhead wire damage.” Amtrak stated.

“Trains operating between Philadelphia Gray 30th St (PHL) and New York Moynihan Train Hall are currently stopped due to overhead wire damage. All trains scheduled to operate in the area are expected to be delayed. As of now, we do not have an estimated time of repair. Crews are addressing this issue. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience as we work through this unexpected situation,” Amtrak stated in an advisory.

ALERT: Service is quickly suspended between Philadelphia (PHL) and New York (NYP) on the Northeast Hall (NEC) attributable to overhead wire injury. Service is predicted to be restored round 12:00 p.m. (EST). We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
