Mayor Eric Adams on Tuesday defended his dealing with of the town’s psychological well being disaster in response to US Rep. Ritchie Torres’ (D-Bronx) criticism in a Monday letter that his administration is “complicit” in a latest stabbing spree that left three New Yorkers lifeless.

However on Nov. 26, Hizzoner insisted that he has been lively and outspoken on the problem of treating these with extreme psychological sickness — pointing to his efforts to clear homeless encampments and involuntarily hospitalize people deemed a menace to themselves and the general public.

“We can’t be revisionist,” Adams stated. “I don’t think there has been an elected official in the city that has been more vociferous around people with severe mental health illness.”
