A younger man has been arrested on costs of stealing a gold-plated rose from a Manhattan church memorial honoring the victims of 9/11.

The metallic flower had served because the centerpiece of a memorial on the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, whose long-time pastor, Father Mychal Choose, was crushed by falling rubble whereas praying for victims and rescuers on the morning of the assault.

On Wednesday afternoon, a person entered the historic Midtown church and eliminated the rose from the bottom of the memorial, in keeping with a police spokesperson. Surveillance images present the suspect holding the tall and slender piece of art work on a sidewalk exterior the church.
