After a two-day strike and 17 months of negotiations, practically 1,000 full-time non-tenure-track school at New York College (NYU) returned to work on March 25 after their union reached a tentative contract settlement with the varsity. 

The settlement was described as “strong” by each NYU leaders and Contract School United-UAW (CFU-UAW), the union representing the educators.

Per the settlement, 95% of union members will make over $100,000 beginning in September; none will make lower than $91,000. Everybody within the union will get a minimal elevate of $14,000 by the beginning of the following educational 12 months.

NYU directors described the tentative settlement as having the very best minimal salaries for unionized contract school within the nation.

CFU-UAW first approved a vote simply days after its twenty third bargaining session with college management on Jan. 30. That is the primary contract the professors would have since they unionized in February 2024.
