Hon. Jill Epstein was sworn in to the NYS Supreme Court docket in a Jan. 11 ceremony.

Choose Jill Epstein was formally sworn in as the latest member of the New York State Supreme Court docket throughout a celebratory ceremony held Jan. 11 at Gargiulo’s Restaurant in Coney Island. 

Epstein, a Sheepshead Bay resident, took the oath of workplace administered by Kings County Supreme Court docket Justice Genine Edwards, marking a major milestone in her authorized profession and years of public service inside the Kings County court docket system.

The occasion drew a big crowd of associates, relations, elected officers, fellow jurists and neighborhood leaders. The Coney Island venue served because the backdrop for a number of of Epstein’s swearing-ins. 

Earlier than her Supreme Court docket appointment, Epstein served as a New York Metropolis Civil Court docket Choose within the 2nd Municipal District, a place she assumed in 2019. Previously, she has been concerned in civil rights regulation and basic litigation, amongst others. 

Throughout her tenure on the Civil Court docket bench, she presided over a variety of instances impacting on a regular basis New Yorkers. In August 2025, she was nominated for her present place, with endorsements from the Democratic, Republican and Conservative events. She at the moment presides over foreclosures proceedings.

Amongst these in attendance was Council Member Mercedes Narcisse, who wrote on Fb that she was “proud to support her election to the bench, and it was great to see so many Brooklyn judges come together to show their support. Wishing Justice Epstein continued success as she serves our borough.”

The Brooklyn Conservative Occasion added its congratulations to Epstein, saying she “received support from both parties.”
