A Brooklyn man was sentenced to fifteen years in jail for a 2022 taking pictures that left a 3-year-old woman leaving daycare damage, the native district legal professional mentioned.

Daleek Habersham, 26, of Brownsville, Brooklyn was sentenced Wednesday after pleading responsible to second-degree tried homicide on June 11.

Based on Brooklyn District Legal professional Eric Gonzalez, who cited proof within the case, Habersham was a member of CHOO, a Brownsville-based gang, and was truly charged as a part of a 2022 takedown that targeted on that gang, and its rival, WOOO.

Based on Gonzalez, the gangs had been linked to dozens of shootings in Brooklyn, together with some that ended with deaths and harmless bystanders damage.

The sentencing was in connection to an incident that passed off on March 25, 2022, at round 6 p.m., when Habersham received out of a BMW on Riverdale Avenue close to Amboy Road in Brownsville and opened hearth within the route of a person placing baby right into a automotive, this after mistakenly believing that the person was a member of rival WOOO gang, based on Gonzalez. As an alternative, Habersham struck a three-year-old woman — who simply left daycare — strolling close by together with her father. The toddler was struck within the shoulder and was rushed to Brookdale Hospital. She survived.

“When violent gang members deal with our streets like taking pictures galleries, harmless households pay the worth,” Gonzalez said. This defendant nearly killed a precious three-year-old on her way home from daycare.”
