Inside Authorities with PoliticsNY is new a Q&A collection that provides New Yorkers a glimpse contained in the function of the elected officers who symbolize them.  This version of Inside Authorities options New York State Meeting Member Michael Reilly. Meeting Member Reilly represents the 62nd Meeting District on Staten Island which incorporates neighborhoods throughout the South Shore of Staten Island, in addition to components of the Mid-Island. 

 

Q: What piece of laws are you most proud to have handed this legislative session?

A: I’m proud to have strongly and vocally supported legislative efforts to revive public security and advance taxpayer advocacy.

 

Q: How does your workplace work to assist your constituents of their day-to-day lives?

A: From high quality of life points to complicated company points, my group and I assist our constituents navigate the complexities of metropolis and state authorities paperwork.

 

Q: What’s the most prevalent situation dealing with your constituents and the way are you working to resolve it?

A: Over taxation, public security, and insufficient providers like public transportation rank among the many high points.

 

Q: What do you hope to perform by the tip of 2025?

A: I plan to proceed advocating for insurance policies that deal with lots of the uniquely complicated points affecting the folks of Staten Island and particularly these in my district.

 

Q: What’s the proudest second of your political profession?

A; Some moments embody: altering the regulation to permit DAs to mix petit larceny costs to deal with organized retail theft; co-chairing the College Security Activity Drive and getting NYC DOE to lock the doorways, a $10 million funds allocation for Drug Recognition Specialists (police officer coaching) to cut back impaired driving throughout the state; passing laws to maneuver ahead a brand new Outerbridge; getting NYC DOE to open a brand new particular training program.
