Troopers with the New Jersey State Police have been referred to as to the turnpike’s southbound lanes close to milepost 68.2 in East Windsor Township, Mercer County, round 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 7, officers mentioned.
Investigators have uncovered that 5 automobiles, a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a Ford F-150 pickup truck, a Kenworth semi-trailer, a Ford van, and a Mercedes-Benz automobile, have been shifting southbound on the turnpike when the semi hit the again of the F-150.
The semi then hit the aspect of the Mercedes because the F-150 crashed into the again of the tractor-trailer, officers defined.
One of many F-150’s again wheels grew to become disconnected throughout the crash and hit the van, in keeping with investigators.
In some unspecified time in the future after the crash, the F-150 caught on fireplace and the motive force was killed, officers mentioned.
