Mourners will collect on Friday to pay their respects for Plainville firefighter Ray Moreau who died from accidents he suffered whereas preventing a hearth on Maria Street in Plainville final Sunday.
Moreau, a volunteer firefighter for 35 years, had deliberate to have fun his thirty sixth wedding ceremony anniversary along with his spouse final Sunday when he obtained the decision concerning the fireplace.
“Myself, Ray and our wives are planning to go to the on line casino and spend collectively to have fun Chris and Ray’s upcoming anniversary,” William Gammon, Plainville Fire Company first lieutenant, said during the vigil for Moreau on Tuesday. “I noticed the big black cloud and I mentioned ‘Oh boy, we’ve a hearth and we might have to start out late.'”
Moreau was injured on the scene and died throughout surgical procedure at he Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, officers mentioned.
The 60-year-old was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps., held a number of positions with the hearth division and arranged fundraisers.
“Ray was a brother, an expensive buddy and we’ll miss him in a method we simply do not have phrases to explain,” Plainville Fire Company Captain John Myska said during a vigil on Tuesday night. “Rest in peace brother, your work here is done. Your legacy will live on and you will never be forgotten.”

Nothing, nothing hurts more than the ultimate sacrifice that was witnessed in the Town of Plainville here today,” Ronnell Higgins, the commissioner of the Connecticut Division of Emergency Companies and Public Safety, mentioned.
Wake
The wake for Moreau might be held from 3 p.m. to round 7 p.m. Friday on the Plainville Funeral Residence at 81 Broad St. in Plainville and members of the general public are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
Due to the anticipated attendance, parking for uniformed personnel might be on the former GE property at 41 Woodford Ave. in Plainville and shuttles will run to and from the funeral dwelling beginning at 2:45 p.m.
Funeral providers
Funeral providers will happen at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Central Connecticut State College’s Welte Corridor at 1615 Stanley St. in New Britain.
Uniformed personnel who’re attending the funeral are requested to reach at CCSU by 8:15 a.m.
Parking might be out there within the Welte Storage at 39 Ella T. Grasso Boulevard.
Procession to cemetery
After the funeral service, there might be a procession to the cemetery and members of the general public are inspired to line the path to honor Moreau.
The procession will proceed left on Ella Grasso, left on Stanley Road, left on Manafort Drive, left on East Road, proper onto Route 9 and take exit 29 off of Interstate 84 to Mulberry Road.
