A firefighter who was rushed to the hospital whereas on the scene of a home fireplace in Plainville on Sunday morning has died, in accordance with city officers.
Fireplace crews responded to the house on Maria Highway round 6:30 a.m. and located heavy fireplace situations. Mutual help was referred to as in from Bristol and Farmington to assist extinguish the flames. The home was destroyed by the fireplace.
In response to fireplace officers, one Plainville volunteer firefighter was injured and was rushed to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. The firefighter later handed away from their accidents, Plainville City Supervisor Michael Paulhus stated. The firefighter’s identification has not been launched whereas their household is notified.
“The only thing I’ll say is, this person’s a volunteer. They volunteer their time to do a job. Job, which is not a safe job. They put their lives on the line, and they do it for years and years and years. So whenever there’s a death like that, it’s a death of a hero. And I want to you know, my hearts go up to the family for that sacrifice, for that loved one,” stated Plainville Police Chief Christopher Vanghele.
