NY daycare shut down over ‘deeply troubling’ circumstances, couple arrested

A Rockland County couple has been arrested on misdemeanor youngster endangerment expenses after authorities say issues about an unlicensed daycare led to the invention of dozens of kids in two unkempt buildings.

The Buildings Division in Clarkstown requested police to look two properties on Maple Avenue in reference to the investigation, prosecutors say.

When that inspection occurred earlier this month, authorities say they discovered 69 youngsters and 20 adults on website and about 30 cribs, with blankets and altering stations, within the basement. Nobody was within the basement on the time of the inspection.

The native police chief, Jeff Wanamaker, echoed these sentiments.

“The circumstances uncovered on the daycare had been deeply regarding and posed a direct menace to thesafety and well-being of the youngsters of their care,” Wanamaker said in part. “The Clarkstown Police Division treats all crimes involving youngsters, essentially the most susceptible members of our group, with the best stage of seriousness and urgency.”
