A New Jersey lady faces prices after her two-year-old daughter ingested methadone and later died on the hospital, police stated.

On July 17, 2025, Jenna O’Connor, 32, of Ocean Gate, New Jersey, known as 911 after she discovered her daughter unresponsive inside her crib, investigators stated. Police later decided the woman was in O’Connor’s care between July 16 and July 17 and through that point had entry to methadone inside the house.

The woman was taken to the Group Medical Middle in Toms River, New Jersey, the place she was positioned in important situation. She was later airlifted to Robert Wooden Johnson College Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, for additional remedy. On July 21, 2025, the woman was pronounced lifeless. Exams carried out on the woman revealed there was methadone in her system, in response to investigators.

On July 22, O’Connor was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a kid. She is presently in custody on the Ocean County Jail pending a detention listening to.

Officers stated the investigation is ongoing and there may very well be further prices.

Methadone – which is offered below the model names Dolophine and Methadose — is an artificial opioid that’s used medically to deal with continual ache, opioid dependancy, and opioid withdrawal signs.
