Officers imagine a younger shark bit a girl at a New York seashore

A 20-year-old lady was doubtless bitten by a juvenile shark whereas waist-deep within the surf at a suburban New York seashore, in keeping with state officers.

The unidentified lady suffered minor cuts to her left leg and foot after being bitten Wednesday at Jones Seashore State Park on Lengthy Island. She was handled for accidents that weren’t life-threatening, in keeping with a launch from state parks officers.

The lady didn’t see what bit her, and a subsequent drone seek for harmful marine life was not profitable. However consultants analyzing pictures of the accidents and different components imagine the bites “most likely” got here from a juvenile sand tiger shark, state officers stated.

Swimming was instantly suspended after the incident and resumed Thursday morning after a test of the water by drones and lifeguards.
