New York on alert, NYPD upping patrols after assault on Iran

New York officers say the state is on “high alert” after the USA navy struck three nuclear websites in Iran.

Gov. Kathy Hochul stated intelligence didn’t recommend New York is going through any credible threats, however insisted the state of affairs could be taken critically given the state’s “distinctive global profile.”

“All State agencies, utilities and other critical infrastructure facilities are on high alert to monitor for any possible disturbances. As a precaution, the MTA and Port Authority have activated counterterrorism protections in partnership with local law enforcement,” Hochul stated in an announcement on Sunday.

President Donald Trump introduced the navy motion late Saturday, after the U.S. inserted itself into Israel’s effort decapitate Iran’s nuclear program.

The top of U.N.’s nuclear watchdog posted on X that given the U.S. intervention within the Israel-Iran warfare, he can be convening an emergency assembly of the Board of Governors on Monday.

Trump’s navy motion acquired rapturous assist from many Republican allies, in addition to the Prime Minister of Israel.

Home Minority Chief Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., attacked Trump’s choice to strike Iran, saying that “the risk of war has now dramatically increased.”

“President Trump misled the country about his intentions, failed to seek congressional authorization for the use of military force and risks American entanglement in a potentially disastrous war in the Middle East,” Jeffries stated in an announcement.

In New York, the governor stated State Police would conduct patrols outdoors homes of worship and “different at-risk websites. The New York Police Division stated in an announcement that it was placing officers at delicate places.

“We’re tracking the situation unfolding in Iran,” the assertion stated. “Out of an abundance of caution, we’re deploying additional resources to religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites across NYC and coordinating with our federal partners.”
