The jury trial for Raul Valle is about to start on Tuesday at Milford Superior Court docket.

Valle, 19, faces a homicide cost for allegedly stabbing 17-year-old Jimmy McGrath to demise in Could 2022 at a home get together in Shelton.

Valle additionally faces three counts of first-degree assault in reference to three different teenagers who had been additionally stabbed.

On Monday, the McGrath household held the third annual Jimmy McGrath Basis Golf Event.

“We put our basis collectively to honor his legacy. He volunteered with Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse to show the younger boys in Bridgeport play Lacrosse so he actually cherished to provide again to the neighborhood and we thought this was an effective way to honor his reminiscence.” 

Jimmy’s father, Kevin, stated the event has served as a form of distraction as they prepare for Valle’s trial. 

“We’ll be there tomorrow and we look to get justice,” McGrath stated. 

Rose McGrath, Jimmy’s sister, described her brother as “the brightest light in a room.” 

“He was truly one of a kind, he was very special to everyone and he really left such a great impact that everyone will remember forever, honestly.” 

Three years after his demise, the McGrath household continues to grieve the lack of their son and brother. 

“We just try to get to the point that when we think about his memory, we think about the good times but thinking about the good times is sad because he was a big piece of our family,” Kevin McGrath stated.
