An investigation is underway after hidden cameras had been discovered inside bogs at a preferred Jersey Shore boardwalk.  

Fallon Conway of Deptford, New Jersey, instructed NBC10 she was visiting the seashore in Ocean Metropolis, New Jersey, with a good friend and her good friend’s baby again on Thursday, June 12. Whereas utilizing one of many public household restrooms on Sixth Road on the Ocean Metropolis Boardwalk, she seen what gave the impression to be a pen protruding from behind a trash can.

“Immediately it was weird,” Conway mentioned. “Something was off.”

Conway picked up the merchandise and shortly realized that what she thought was a pen was really a digicam.

“My heart dropped,” she mentioned. “It was striking.”

Ocean Metropolis Police arrived on the lavatory round 12:25 p.m. that day and commenced looking out by different restrooms on the boardwalk, discovering extra hidden cameras on each tenth Road and eleventh Road. They then launched an investigation with officers remaining close to boardwalk bogs on Friday as they continued to seek for extra cameras.

“I want to assure the public that our detectives will use every available resource to find the person who placed these cameras, and any suspect will be prosecuted to the fullest,” Ocean Metropolis Mayor Jay Gillian mentioned.

Because the investigation continues, Conway instructed NBC10 she hopes the continuing scenario serves as a reminder for everybody.

“Be careful,” she mentioned. “Be aware of your surroundings. You seriously never know when you are going to come across something like this.”
