New Yorker are saddened and pissed off over President Trump’s journey ban which impacts 12 international locations that took impact on June 9, 2025.

New Yorkers and elected officers denounced President Trump’s journey ban impacting 12 African and Asian international locations, which took impact Monday.

Critics of the president’s order gathered in Foley Sq. on June 9 decried the transfer as one more instance of presidency overreach on Trump’s half that undermines conventional American values.

The journey ban prevents folks from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen from getting into the US. As Brooklyn Metropolis Council Member Alexa Aviles sees it, nonetheless, the ban constitutes one other “racial policy against New Yorkers and American citizens” attacking the basic values of the nation.

“You can look at your TV and say, ‘Well, they were only aliens anyway. they were only criminals anyway.’ But it’s not,” Williams mentioned. “It is students. It is working families. They’re being lied to now to come down to federal court, thinking something else is going to happen because they’re following the pathway legally.”

Jean-Claude Pierre of the Haitian Bridge Alliance mentioned that his group and others would work to cease the journey ban and different anti-immigrant insurance policies from the second Trump administration simply as onerous because it did throughout Trump’s first time period in 2017-18, when he enacted a Muslim journey ban and insurance policies separating households because the southern border with Mexico.
