A second suspect needed in connection to a violent assault and theft of an off-duty NYPD officer within the Bronx was taken into custody, in accordance with legislation enforcement sources.

The suspect was arrested late Wednesday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia, a number of legislation enforcement sources informed NBC New York. The arrest was carried out by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Job Pressure, which is made up of U.S. Marshals and NYPD detectives.

He was caught whereas carrying a wig as he walked out of a residential constructing. The id of the suspect was not instantly shared.

The arrest comes someday after the opposite suspect within the brutal beatdown was arrested as properly. Regulation enforcement sources say 23-year-old Taveon Hargrove was apprehended Tuesday morning in North Chesterfield, Virginia, a suburb outdoors of Richmond. Particular fees weren’t instantly clear.

It was not clear when Hargrove and the opposite suspect can be returned to New York to face fees.

Sources stated the officer was in uniform however off-duty on the time of the assault. He acquired an ovation from fellow officers as he left the hospital on Wednesday.
