Drivers and companies who’ve been subjected to these dreaded I-80 closures in Wharton get a reprieve, with two eastbound lanes set to reopen Wednesday evening (climate allowing) after in depth closures triggered by a collection of sinkholes courting again to the winter.
New Jersey’s Division of Transportation made the announcement Tuesday, after paving was accomplished.
By the tip of Might, the DOT says one other two lanes going westbound are anticipated to reopen as effectively. All I-80 lanes at exit 34 have been closed since mid-March when a sinkhole opened subsequent to the westbound median. The difficulty, although, dates additional again. The eastbound lanes had been closed in February after a second sinkhole.
