Jimmy Fallon and The Weeknd crashed a Fordham College commencement occasion in New York Metropolis on Thursday, stunning this yr’s graduates with performances of the hit songs “Blinding Lights” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”

The scholars thought they had been attending a small occasion of their honor, the host of “The Tonight Show” stated in a video of the shock. The college reported about 200 college students had been in attendance.

“They have no idea that I’m about to DJ for them,” Fallon stated. “They also have no idea that The Weeknd is going to perform.”

Fordham President Tania Tetlow welcomed the graduates-to-be to the celebration, telling them that they had a “special guest DJ” coming. College students erupted in cheers as Fallon then entered the room, taking his place behind the DJ setup.

“I’ve never deejayed before in my life,” Fallon stated. “I should admit that now. I just figured it’d be fun.”

Fallon fumbled round with the gear earlier than plugging his telephone in and enjoying The Weeknd’s well-liked tune “Blinding Lights” as he warmed up the gang.

That’s when the doorways opened to disclose the Grammy Award-winning singer himself, sending college students into one other bout of cheers.

“Class of 2025, let’s go!” The Weeknd yelled earlier than launching into his efficiency. He shared the mic with some college students within the entrance and hit synchronized dance strikes with Fordham’s mascot Ramses, whom Fallon and The Weeknd saved calling “Ramsey.”

The Weeknd then carried out one other hit, “Can’t Feel My Face,” earlier than the duo left. College students loudly sang alongside, palms raised within the air.

On Friday night time’s episode of “The Tonight Show,” The Weeknd stated he didn’t count on the shock to be “that crazy.”

“When did you know for a second that it might work?” Fallon requested. 

“When they started screaming for you, actually,” the singer replied, to laughs from the present’s viewers.

The Fordham College college students celebrated their graduation on Saturday morning.
