Authorities are investigating after a person was stabbed throughout the road from the New York Public Library in midtown Manhattan late Tuesday, officers say.

Police responding to a name about an individual stabbed close to East forty second Road and Fifth Avenue round 10:30 p.m. discovered the person stabbed within the abdomen and the leg. He was taken to a hospital and is predicted to outlive.

The NYPD says they’re on the lookout for a person sporting darkish clothes who fled eastbound on forty third Road after the assault. It isn’t clear what led as much as the stabbing, neither is it identified if the sufferer knew his attacker.

Particulars on his age and identification weren’t offered.

A number of officers cordoned off the scene into the night Tuesday. A pair of scissors was recovered on the scene.

Anybody with data is requested to name Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
