The NYPD is investigating the demise of a person found between two subway practice vehicles within the Bronx.
The person, believed to be in his 30s, was discovered below a northbound No. 1 practice at Broadway and West 238th St round 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, the NYPD stated. He was pronounced useless on the scene, in accordance with the FDNY.
No criminality is suspected within the man’s demise in Kingsbridge, the NYPD stated.
It is unclear if the person’s demise was because of “subway surfing.”
New York Metropolis launched a marketing campaign in 2024 referred to as “Subway Surfing Kills – Ride Inside, Stay Alive” to deliver consciousness to the risks of subway browsing. Mayor Eric Adams has requested residents to name 911 to alert officers to subway browsing to allow them to deploy drones and first responders.
