A teen is going through a number of prices after prosecutors stated he tried to stab New Jersey law enforcement officials whereas being apprehended for deliberately crashing a stolen automobile right into a police cruiser.

In response to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Workplace, the incident started on Friday, March 21, simply after 4:30 p.m., when a Florence police officer’s cruiser was deliberately struck a number of instances whereas he was responding to a report of an overturned automobile.

Prosecutors stated the suspect — a 16-year-old boy from Virginia — then had an inoperable automobile on Route 130 close to Station Street. He exited the automobile and ran instantly towards the officers on the scene, aggressively lunging at them with a knife.

One of many officers suffered facial accidents and a laceration to his torso whereas disarming the teenager. Two different officers have been handled and launched, in line with prosecutors.

Prosecutors stated the teenager has been charged with first-degree tried homicide, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault with lethal weapons, and different associated prices.

In response to prosecutors, the teenager is being held within the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Heart in North Brunswick.
