1 lifeless in small airplane crash in Franklin Township, NJ, police say

One individual was killed in a small airplane crash in Franklin Township in Somerset County, New Jersey, late Sunday morning, police mentioned.

Franklin Township Police first responded to an plane emergency at 11:26 a.m. on March 30, 2025. Investigators mentioned there was a name from air site visitors management reporting a lack of contact with a single-engine plane that was flying over Franklin Township. The plane was final reported within the space of South Middlebush Highway and Jacques Lane.

New Jersey State Police underwent an aerial search whereas the Millstone Valley Hearth Division deployed a drone to assist discover the airplane. Then round 1:20 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplied extra data that led to the invention of the plane in an space close to South Middlebush Lane and Hilltop Lane in Franklin Township. Police and firefighters then discovered one individual contained in the plane. That individual was pronounced lifeless, in accordance with police. They didn’t reveal the individual’s identification or a explanation for dying. In addition they haven’t but confirmed if anybody else was on board the airplane or the place the plane initially departed from.

Officers evacuated and secured the world surrounding the crash web site. They’re advising the general public to remain away from the world because the investigation continues. The Nationwide Transportation Security Board (NTSB) is main the investigation.
