Heidi Markow, the proprietor of Salvage Items in Easton instructed NBC10 she made a routine journey to an public sale in Montgomery County again in January 2025 to search for objects for her enterprise.

“There were paintings that were going for $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 as they moved down the line,” she instructed NBC10. “And this was just sitting there.”

Markow purchased a drawing for less than $12. It wasn’t till she took a more in-depth look nevertheless that she observed a faint signature: Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Renoir was a French artist and painter born in 1841 who was recognized for his Impressionist art work.

“It can go for six figures, seven figures, I don’t know,” Markow instructed NBC10.

Though the drawing hasn’t been appraised, Markow believes it may very well be a Renoir work from the Nineteen Twenties. The writing on the again of the drawing suggests a Philadelphia artwork collector who donated to the Philadelphia Museum of Artwork as soon as owned it.
