Faux mourner robs NYC funeral house director at machete-point, police say

A person pretending to be in mourning violently robbed a funeral house director at machete-point in Harlem, authorities say.

Based on investigators, the suspect confirmed up at Daniels Wilhelmina Funeral house on West 131st Avenue in the course of the afternoon one February day. He had made an appointment to fulfill with the director, purportedly to debate funeral preparations, police stated.

As soon as he acquired into the 66-year-old funeral director’s workplace, cops say the suspect demanded cash, punched the sufferer within the head a couple of occasions and brandished a machete earlier than stealing his cellphone and pockets.

The suspect ran off afterward. The funeral director refused medical consideration on the scene.

Police launched surveillance footage of the suspect speaking to the funeral director, in addition to video of the suspect strolling on the road exterior (above).
