The mayor of Lumberton, New Jersey, was arrested at her dwelling on St. Patrick’s Day after, police allege, she drove along with her son in her automotive whereas inebriated.
In line with police, the incident occurred on Monday, March 17, 2025, at about 6:11 p.m. after regulation enforcement officers have been despatched a video that, allegedly, confirmed a car swerving out of lanes whereas driving and, at one level, almost hitting a utility pole.
Officers made contact with the car’s proprietor, Gina LaPlaca, the mayor of Lumberton, New Jersey, after viewing the video.
Court docket paperwork declare, in an interview with police, LaPlaca admitted that she had been ingesting and mentioned she drove the car to select up her son from daycare.

The Committee remains diligent in our commitment to working with our Township’s employees and professionals to provide seamless services without a moment of disruption for our residents. However, she has a courtroom date scheduled for April 15, 2025.
