Bicyclist hit and killed by unmarked police automobile in Connecticut

A police officer in an unmarked police automobile hit a person on a bicycle whereas responding to a name on Monday night and the person who was struck has died, in accordance with police.

It occurred simply after 6 p.m. on the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Fairfield Avenue.

State police stated a Norwalk police detective was driving an unmarked Chevrolet Equinox that had emergency lights and he was approaching the intersection and a inexperienced mild.

The bicyclist, 68-year-old Manuel Bonilla-Gomez, of Norwalk, was approaching the intersection and a crimson mild when he went into the intersection, in accordance with state police.

First responders offered medical support and Bonilla-Gomez was rushed to Norwalk Hospital the place he died, in accordance with police.

Norwalk Police Chief James Walsh provided the division’s ideas and prayers to the sufferer’s household.

Walsh stated the officer, who has been with the division for 10 years, is on administrative depart.

The Connecticut State Police are investigating the accident.
